Educational objectives
The School of Restoration’s single-cycle academic diploma programs aim to train cultural heritage restorers according to specific profiles as per regulations.
Graduates of the School’s diploma courses must obtain specialized training, through the acquisition of a culture based on in-depth knowledge of restoration techniques and methodologies, based on the study of:
- basic scientific disciplines applied to restoration such as chemistry, physics, biology, geology;
- in-depth study of drawing and graphic reconstruction techniques aimed at documentation in accordance with current regulations;
- theoretical and historical-artistic disciplines, the history of techniques as well as documentation methodologies;
- executive techniques, artistic materials, processes and technologies;
- diagnostic investigation methodology;
- legal disciplines relating to the protection and valorization of cultural heritage, safety legislation;
- fundamentals of economics, management and business management;
- information and multimedia technologies applied to protection and restoration;
- modern maintenance and restoration methodologies;
- history and theory of restoration;
- computer science and English language, as basic knowledge.
